Twilight Zone Studio – We Live in a Twilight World
“Twilight Zone Studio” is a project that
recreates the artist's actual working studio, which has accompanied Kim Eull's
long creative journey, in miniature in the exhibition space, and presents it as
an independent artwork. Rather than an exhibition about a studio, this represents
an unprecedented attempt to transform the studio itself into a work of art. By
presenting his workspace as an artwork, the artist shifts the exhibition's
focus from end products to the creative process and environment. Consequently,
the museum space becomes a stage for artistic experience that enters the
artist's private and creative realm.
One distinctive and crucial aspect of
“Twilight Zone Studio” lies in how the workspace is reborn as a symbolic
structure that embodies the artist's psychological trajectory and ontological
explorations and extends beyond its physical environment. Drawing upon a decade
of carpentry experience, the artist directly participated in building his
studio. With the artist's hands, the studio has been transformed into both a
site of sculptural experimentation and a creative foundation where life traces
are embedded. This dissolves the distinction between the artist's private realm
and public exhibition space, inviting viewers into an environment that
encompasses the beginning, process, and results of creation.
